  • How many people can Chevy Chase Country Club accommodate for a reception?
    The Grand Ballroom accommodates up to 450 guests. The Devonshire room accommodates up to 220 guests.
  • Could Chevy Chase Country Club have two events going on at once?
    Yes. Our two banquet spaces, the Devonshire Room and the Grand Ballroom operate independently and have separate guest facilities and entrances.
  • May I have my ceremony here, too? Is there an additional cost?
    Yes, we offer both outdoor and indoor ceremony options for each room. There is an additional fee for the ceremony.

    • The Devonshire room has the 1st Tee for an outdoor ceremony.
    • The Devonshire room’s indoor ceremony will be inside the room.
    • The Grand Ballroom indoor ceremony will be in the Abbey or inside the dining area of the Grand Ballroom.
  • Can the entire day be reserved for your event?
    Yes, you can request a room block for an additional $2,000 fee. This ensures you the entire
    day and other day events cannot book your room. The fee includes a light lunch for up to 12
    guests.
  • What are Chevy Chase Country Club time slots?
    Daytime event time slots are 9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Evening events may vary depending on your room and event. Access for setup for an  evening event is at 3:00 p.m.
  • How early can we arrive and how late can we stay?
    This varies based on the time slot of your event.

    • Morning/Lunch time: 9 a.m. for set up and vendor arrival.
      The event must end by 2:30 p.m.
    • Evening/Dinner time: 3 p.m. for set up and vendor arrival.
      The earliest guest time arrival is 5 p.m. The event must end by 1 a.m.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club provide heaters and/or umbrellas for the outdoor spaces?
    We do not provide heaters and/or umbrellas for our outdoor event spaces.
  • What’s your weather contingency (backup) plan for outdoor spaces?
    The backup plan in case of inclement weather is the indoor options noted above. We require a 24- hour notice to determine if your ceremony will be held outdoors or moved to our indoor option.
  • Are there changing areas for the bride, groom, and/or wedding party?
    We have two bridal suites. There is one bridal suite for the Devonshire room and one bridal suite for the Grand Ballroom.
  • Is there a separate space for cocktail hour?
    • The Devonshire room offers a beautifully appointed foyer and an outdoor wrap-around terrace, weather permitting.
    • The Grand Ballroom offers the Abbey, bar, & foyer and weather permitting a patio with pergola.
  • Is the venue available for our rehearsal dinner or a morning-after mimosa brunch?
    Yes, we would be more than happy to host your rehearsal dinner or the morning-after mimosa brunch. Please check availability and pricing with our professional sales team.
  • Do you offer a free rehearsal to practice the ceremony? How much time is allocated for the rehearsal?
    The rehearsal slots for our couples are available on Wednesdays & Thursdays. Should you wish to reserve a space well in advance of the date, we do require a $500 rental fee for advance booking. However, if the space is available two weeks prior. We allow one complimentary hour to practice your ceremony. The ceremony may be rehearsed as many times as you would like in that hour.
  • What overnight accommodations does Chevy Chase Country Club provide?
    There are many hotels in the area that offer room blocks and shuttle service to and from Chevy Chase Country Club. Please, contact the hotel’s sales team for more information. Accommodations are available at the following hotels near our venue:

  • Can Chevy Chase Country Club accommodate physically challenged guests?
    Yes, all ballrooms, patio areas, and washrooms at Chevy Chase Country Club are wheelchair accessible. The Devonshire bridal suite is also wheelchair accessible. The Grand Ballroom bridal suite is not wheelchair accessible.
  • Is there parking on site and if so, is it complimentary?
    Yes, we do have complimentary parking, located directly in front of our venue.
  • How many restrooms are available?
    We have two restroom suites for guests. We have a bank of restrooms for the Devonshire room and a separate bank of restrooms for the Grand Ballroom.
  • Are there any noise restrictions?
    As a courtesy to our neighbors, the Devonshire terrace closes promptly at 10 p.m.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club have an in-house chef?
    Yes, we do have an in-house executive chef with over 28 years of experience at our venue.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club offer late-night snacks for our guests?
    Yes, Chevy Chase Country Club does offer a variety of late-night snack options including pizza, popcorn, a mac n cheese bar, mini sliders, and more. Please refer to our menu for additional selections.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country allow the host to use an outside vendor for late-night snacks?
    Yes, Chevy Chase Country Club will allow an outside vendor to deliver and provide latenight snacks. There is a vendor fee and a certificate of insurance requirement.
  • Is there a food & beverage minimum?
    On a Saturday night, we do have a food and beverage minimum for each room. On a Friday or a Sunday night, there is a guest count guaranteed. Please contact our professional Sales Team for more information.
  • We require strict dietary restrictions for our menu. Will you still be able to accommodate these meals for our wedding guests?
    Our executive chef can accommodate most dietary restrictions. Examples: Gluten-free, Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy, and Nut allergies.
  • Can we do a food tasting before we finalize our menu selection? Does it cost extra?
    We do include a tasting for up to 4 guests for weddings. If you have any additional guests, a fee of $35 per person is added to your final bill. Our tasting days are on select Wednesdays and the time slots are from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. You select the tasting date and time slot that best fits your schedule. The tasting experience includes select main entrees and sides. The tasting does not include hors d’oeuvres, salad, and soup. Our executive chef and food & beverage team are available at the tasting to answer any questions that you may have related to the food.
  • When Does Chevy Chase Country Club recommend scheduling a food tasting?
    We recommend a tasting 3-6 months prior to your wedding date. Our team will send an email to schedule your tasting. The email will include a link to make that appointment.
  • Can I bring in a cake from an outside Bakery or do I have to use a cake made on site?
    Yes, you may bring in a cake from an outside licensed Bakery. The Bakery is required to provide a Certificate of Insurance.
  • Is there a cake-cutting fee? Is the fee waived if I have a family member cut the cake?
    For weddings held at Chevy Chase Country Club, cake cutting is included in the wedding package. For all other events, the cake-cutting and serving fee is $1.50 per person. Chevy Chase Country Club does not allow a family member or a guest to cut the cake.
  • Can we bring in home-baked desserts and sweets?
    We do not allow home-baked desserts and sweets. If you would like to bring in outside sweets and goods, you may, however, all desserts and sweets need to be from a licensed bakery that can provide a Certificate of Insurance.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club allow outside alcohol?
    We do not permit outside alcohol. We have a large selection of alcoholic beverages available through our bar packages.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club allow outside catering?
    We recommend our in-house executive chef but yes, we allow outside catering Sunday-Thursday through a licensed caterer that can provide a Certificate of Insurance. Please contact our professional Sales Team for more information.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club have a list of “preferred” caterers?
    Chevy Chase Country Club does not have a list of preferred caterers.
  • If I hire my own caterer, is there a kitchen available for them?
    All food from an outside caterer has to be fully prepared and cooked at the caterer’s premises. Chevy Chase Country Club does provide food warmers to keep the food hot.
  • Are Chevy Chase Country Club’s health department and insurance certificates up to date?
    Yes, Chevy Chase Country Club maintains our facilities to meet health and safety requirements.
  • Are you licensed to provide alcohol service?
    Yes.
  • Can we bring our own wine, beer or champagne? What about hard liquor?
    We do not allow outside alcoholic beverages.
  • What bar packages are available at Chevy Chase Country Club? Is there a minimum?
    Chevy Chase Country Club offers a cash bar, tab bar, and open bar. The open bar option has a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Are there additional charges for bar staff?
    • For a cash or tab bar, there is an additional labor charge per bartender.
    • For an open bar, there isn’t an additional charge; the fee includes a bartender at a ratio of 1 bartender per
      100 guests. For an event of 100 to 200, 2 bartenders are included. Additional bartenders are available for an additional fee. Please contact our professional Sales Team for more information
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club provide tables, chairs, plates, silverware, glassware, and linens or will I need to rent them myself or get them through my caterer?
    Chevy Chase Country Club provides all tables, chairs, plates, silverware, glassware, standard linens, and table numbers for your event. Some colors and materials for linen are an additional cost.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club allow outside vendors?
    Outside vendors are welcome and are required to provide a valid Certificate of Insurance.
  • Are we allowed to bring in our own decorations?
    Yes, you may bring in decorations. There are some restrictions, please ask our Sales Team for more information.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club have an inventory of décor (lighting, candle holders, vases, etc.) we can use for centerpieces?
    Chevy Chase Country Club offers 12” round mirrors and votive holders. All other decorations must be provided by the host or by a decorator, florist, or a D.J.
  • Can I move things around or do I have to leave everything as is? When should I clean up and pick up decorations or personal items?
    Chevy Chase Country Club knows it is important to personalize your event. We allow select furniture and decor to be moved. All decorations must be taken off the tables and put away at the end of the event.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club have restrictions on hanging things from the ceiling or on the walls? Are there any decor restrictions?
    Chevy Chase does not allow nails, tape, or other objects attached to the wall. String lights or material draping is allowed only on ceiling tile areas.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club allow taper candles or sparklers?
    • All candles must be enclosed within a safety container.
    • Taper candles are permitted only if the candle is completely surrounded by a cylinder.
    • Cold sparklers are allowed indoors and may not leave residue on the floor. The vendor is required to supply a Certificate of Insurance and must control the cold sparklers.
  • May we use dry ice/fog machines/candles/confetti/sparklers/fireworks/animals/lawngames/ ounce houses/food trucks?
    For all permitted items, a Certificate of Insurance is required.
  • Are we allowed to use outside vendors that are not on your preferred vendor list?
    Yes, we require a Certificate of Insurance from outside vendors.
  • Can I hire my own vendors or is there a preferred vendor list we need to stick to?
    We have a list of preferred vendors who are experienced top-notch professionals. Our preferred vendor list is familiar with the facility and our team. Outside vendors are welcome.
  • Can the venue accommodate a DJ or live band?
    Yes, we can accommodate a DJ or a live band. The host is responsible for contracting with a DJ or live band. A certificate of insurance is required for a DJ or band.
  • What security services does Chevy Chase Country Club offer?
    We do not offer security services; the host may hire an outside security vendor for your wedding. We will need the vendor’s Certificate of Insurance.
  • What time can my vendors start setting up on the day of the wedding?
    Set up and use of the bridal suite for an evening event may begin at 3 p.m. If you would like to begin before 3 p.m., we have a full-day rental option available for an additional $2,000 charge. If you would like to reserve the banquet room and/or bridal suite for the entire day, we will need to know upon contracting. This fee is non-refundable. A full-day room reservation grants access to the room and bridal suite beginning at 8 a.m.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club provide assistance getting gifts and/or Décor back to a designated car or hotel room after the wedding?
    Our event team is available to assist with packing up decorations after the wedding ends. We do not offer assistance with the cards and gifts. We recommend having a trusted friend or family member assist with the gifts & cards.
  • How far in advance may I reserve my date?
    We recommend scheduling a tour and reserving your date 2 years in advance. If your event is within 1-2 years of today, please call and discuss availability with our Sales Team.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club offer on-site coordination? What services are included?
    Chevy Chase Country Club provides an Event Manager for the day of the event to help coordinate the catering and follow the host’s timeline for the event. Additional event planning services or working with an event planner is recommended but not required.
  • Do you recommend meeting with the Chevy Chase Country Club Event Manager prior to our wedding?
    All wedding events meet with the event manager the week of the wedding to review the banquet event order. Any personal items for the event may be dropped off at this time.
  • Who will be the point person as we plan our wedding?
    The Sales staff works as a team to answer any questions that you might have during the booking and planning process. Approximately 2 months prior to the event we schedule an in person meeting with the Salesperson who will be your main point of contact.
  • Who will be the point person on our wedding day?
    Our Event Manager will be the point of contact on the day of the wedding.
  • Is there a discount for booking an off-season date or a Sunday through Friday wedding?
    We do offer special pricing for off-season dates, Fridays, and Sundays. Please contact the Sales Team for more information.
  • What is the rental fee and what’s included in that price?
    Fees and requirements vary depending on the date and time of the day; please call us at (847) 465- 2311 to learn more about our venue pricing.
  • What’s the tax and service charge?
    For applicable services, assesses tax at a rate of 7% and a service fee of 22% is added to the final invoice. Gratuity is not included.
  • How many hours does the rental fee include, and is there an overtime fee if I stay longer?
    Lunch events: 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Dinner events: 5 p.m. – 1 a.m.
    Events must conclude at the scheduled time.
  • What’s the payment plan for the entire bill? What forms of payment does Chevy Chase Country Club accept?
    An initial deposit of $2,000 at the time of booking. 50% paid 6 months prior to the wedding date and another 50% paid 3 months before the wedding. Final payment is due 10 days prior to the event. Chevy Chase Country Club will accept payment in the form of cash, check or credit card. We do not assess a credit card processing fee.
  • What is your payment cancellation policy?
    All deposits and payments are non-refundable.
  • What is your refund policy?
    All deposits and payments are non-refundable. If the client cancels the event for any reason 180 days or 90 days prior to the event, the contract will terminate and the total monies paid as of the date of termination are forfeited unless: an alternate date within the same calendar year is selected at the time of cancellation. Chevy Chase Country Club reserves the right to change the refund policy at any time. We will provide 90 days notice in writing of said change.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club have liability insurance?
    Yes.
  • Are cabs/rideshares (Uber, Lyft, etc.) easily accessible from the venue?
    Yes.
  • If a shuttle service is needed, can you assist with setting it up?
    Chevy Chase Country Club does not assist with setting up shuttle services. The host is responsible for arranging transportation to and from the venue.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club provide a coat check service?
    Yes, there are coat rooms located in the foyer of event spaces.
  • When is the last date to make changes to our reservation?
    All banquet event order details must be finalized 10 days prior to the event to ensure that all products are delivered on time.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club have signage or other aids to direct guests to my event?
    Yes, each event space has a TV monitor over the entrance of the Devonshire and the GrandBallroom. Our team personalizes a message to Welcome guests to your special day.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club have a sound system and/or microphones for speeches?
    Yes, we have a sound system with microphones as well as monitors to play a slideshow of the bride and groom’s special memories.
  • Does Chevy Chase Country Club require that we have wedding insurance?
    Chevy Chase Country Club does not require wedding insurance but it is highly recommended. We require outside vendors to provide a Certificate of Insurance.
